The term "stable" denotes being still, fixed, and unchanging. When in a state of stability, there is no movement, growth, or alteration. In my practice, I embrace the notion that stability is not a final destination but a momentary state of being — stationary, fixed, and unchanging. It is a resting place, not the ultimate goal.
Genuine growth occurs when equilibrium is disrupted, leading to instability. To reach our potential, we must be willing to navigate the challenges of instability.
Without internal discord, there is little stimulus for change or growth. I follow an approach that acknowledges the importance of this internal discord for catalyzing change and fostering personal growth. Instead of hastily alleviating symptoms, I encourage individuals to fully embrace their emotions. My focus is on maintaining a positive and developmental perspective even in the face of what may be perceived as psychiatric illness.
Of course, this is a unique approach in today's world of seeking immediate and total relief of any unpleasant psychological experience. At Beyondstable, my focus is on more than medicine. Our objective isn't just stability; it's about transcending stability and breaking free from inertia.
